Feelings
by Sandra Ness Spagone
1990

Happy was too busy to play
And
Sad sat down for tea.
Sane suggested I keep my cool.
And
Confused just wasn’t sure.
Fear told me to watch my step.
And
Secure went to check and see.
Calm was feeling on the edge,
And
Anger demanded I quit.
Victory saw the perfect solution,
And
Damned said it was impossible.
Empty complained to hurry it up,
And
Content was on vacation.
Nothing seemed to help a bit

But…

Love told me to follow my heart

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
